Do you have a body with disproportionate contours due to pockets of excess fat deposits that seem resistant to your diet and exercise efforts? If so liposuction may be the right body contouring procedure for you. Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately enhancing your self-image.
What is liposuction?
Liposuction also known as liposculpture, or lipo, is a minimally invasive cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess fat from a localized area of the body. Liposuction is one of the most common body contouring procedures and is suitable for adult men and women alike. Liposuction is used to target areas on the thighs, abdomen, arms, back, hips, buttocks, flanks, chest, face, calves, and ankles.
Dr. Adan uses state of the art technology to perform to liposuction procedures.
The Nutational Infrasonic Liposculpture is a variant of the vibro lipo aspiration, technique that was basically invented by Euromi.
N.I.L.® technique is based on a movement of NUTATION, which enables the fatty tissues to be removed while respecting the other tissues. This will make the postoperative shorter and less painful for the patient.
Advantages of the N.I.L. ® technique and EVA®sp
- Less bruises
- Less oedemas
- Better aspect of the skin
- Shorter postoperative recovery
- Ability to treat any zones of the body, even the most delicate ones
What Should I Expect Before and During My Liposuction Surgery?
Dr. Adan will also assess your general medical health and medical history to plan your liposuction procedure. Part of this medical history requires that you provide candid answers to questions about your general state of health, including, a full disclosure of health history including any illness, prior surgery of any kind and complications from prior surgery. All types of allergies and any reaction to prior general anesthesia. Current medications, the use of vitamins, herbal supplements, alcohol, tobacco and drugs
Before surgery, you must follow all of your plastic surgeon’s instructions. This may include:
- Stop smoking
- Stop taking certain types of medications that may increase your risk of abnormal bleeding.
On the day of surgery, you may be asked to:
- Avoid eating or drinking anything within a defined time period prior to surgery.
On the day of surgery, a board certified Consultant Anaesthesiologist and a certified member of Platinum Surgery Center’s team will administer general anesthesia. Tumescent, also called super-wet, technique requires an infusion of saline solution with adrenaline and possibly anesthetic prior to removal of excess fat, is injected into the treatment area in preparation for your procedure. Once the treatment area is injected, Dr. Adan makes a tiny incision and insert a small cannula underneath the skin in order to break up unwanted fat cells and suction them from the body. Additional incisions may be made, depending on the areas being treated. After the procedure is complete, you will be taken to a recovery area for close monitoring.
What Should I Expect After My Liposuction Procedure?
To prepare the day of your liposuction procedure, we suggest you wear loose, comfortable clothing with no jewelry or makeup. It is important that a friend or family member is present with you, as you will not be able to drive immediately following the liposuction procedure. You may also need assistance at home for the first 2-3 days. As each patient is different, so is each individual’s rate of healing. It is important to give your body the proper rest it needs. You may experience some mild discomfort, bruising, swelling, or numbness following liposuction. Pain medication can be prescribed to help reduce these side effects. Patients should avoid any rigorous activity, including exercising or performing housework, for the following weeks. You may be ready to return to work after 1-2 weeks of healing. Liposuction incisions are carefully placed to ensure that scarring remains virtually invisible.
